My main medium is low relief carvings, and I find creative inspiration in my love of traditional folk art. I blend modern tools with classic handicraft techniques, seeking to bridge the gap between these seemingly contradictory worlds. A Bit About Me
I’m Bethany Parisi, a modern folk artist raised in New England, now calling the Finger Lakes, NY home. I have always been captivated by the world of art, both as a viewer and a creator. My journey began with a collection of hobbies, exploring various mediums, but none have resonated with me quite like wood carving. From start to finish, the process of carving is truly enjoyable for me. I've drawn inspiration from my hikes in nature and the bold aesthetics of Traditional American Tattoos, finding beauty in everything from the small mundane beetles to expansive landscapes. One thing I know for sure: when inspiration strikes, I turn to pine to capture those fleeting moments of creativity.

I believe in transparent pricing for my work. For commissions, I follow a simple formula: hours worked x $20 + the cost of materials. This ensures fair and clear pricing for every project! Pay transparency for artists is crucial. It not only fosters trust but also reinforces the idea that creative work has value. Artists, like any other professionals, deserve to make a living from their skills and passions. By being upfront about my pricing, I aim to ensure that we both feel confident in the exchange. This way, I can focus on the joy of creating, fair compensation for my time and effort on each project.
I take a select number of commissions each year, carefully considering each project to ensure it aligns with my artistic style and vision. While I love collaborating on creative ideas, I reserve the right to determine whether a project is the right fit for the type of work I do. Thank you for your understanding!
